Regarded as a cradle of Vietnam's culture, The Red River delta is best known for its ancient villages and traditional seasonal festivals. We offer you the unique opportunity to see the real rural life of Vietnamese peasants living in these ancient villages. This tour is also interesting for those who are interested in Buddies philosophy.

Option 1: Tho Ha village
After breakfast, enjoy a 45-min drive to the rural outskirts of Hanoi northwards on Highway 5. A small concrete ferry will take you across the Cau River to Tho Ha village, a picturesque place that has remained unaffected by modern development. The families in this village make a living by producing rice paper and raising animals. The guide will introduce you to a village elder and war veteran Mr. Cuong – visit his house, stop by at Tho Ha pagoda and Tho temple, and find out more about the village through the eyes of a resident. Drive back to Hanoi.
End of service (hotel accommodation today is not included)

Option 2: Duong Lam village
In the morning, embark on a 1.5-hour drive to the ancient village of Duong Lam, an agricultural village in the north of the Red River delta. Boasting around 300 houses built three or four centuries ago with lateritic bricks, wandering along Duong Lam’s narrow alleyways offers the opportunity to explore rural life and Vietnam’s ancient architecture. The cultural and historical vestiges of Duong Lam include Mong Phu Communal House, Princess Mia Pagoda (built in 15th century), and the old church. The village well – the traditional feature of communal life – is also worth a look. End the trip at the ancient house owned by The Tien couple where you can interact with the friendly owners and share their life experiences. Drive back to Hanoi.
End of service (hotel accommodation today is not included)
